Kuching, 24 February 2025 – GreenRE Sdn Bhd and the Sarawak Housing and Real Estate Developers’ Association (SHEDA) have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance collaboration in promoting sustainability practices and green building certification across Sarawak.

The event was graced by YB Datuk Dr. Haji Hazland bin Abang Haji Hipni, Deputy Minister for Energy and Environmental Sustainability, who delivered the opening speech, emphasizing the importance of sustainable development in Sarawak’s built environment. The MoU, signed by GreenRE Director, Datuk Seri Dr Michael Yam, and SHEDA President, Mr Augustine Wong Chung Ho, outlines key areas of cooperation, including awareness programs, green certification support, training, and sustainability advocacy.

The MoU outlines key areas of cooperation, including:

• Awareness and Education – Establishing platforms for knowledge-sharing, training, and capacity-building related to green building practices.
• Green Certification Support – Providing guidance to SHEDA members in obtaining GreenRE certification for buildings and townships.
• Preferential Training Programmes – Offering preferential pricing on GreenRE training programmes, with additional discounts for bulk enrolments.
• Sustainability Advocacy – Encouraging SHEDA members to integrate sustainability principles into their developments in alignment with national green building goals.
