On 21st February 2025, GreenRE was invited to Sunway International School (SIS) in Subang Jaya to deliver a talk on sustainable development and best practices as part of the school’s Sustainable Week initiative. The event began with a warm welcome from Deputy Principal David John, who accompanied the GreenRE team to the school's multipurpose hall.

GreenRE’s Senior Assessor, Ts. Intan Siti Zulaikha binti Mastor, presented a session titled "My Green School," outlining key sustainability principles, including energy efficiency, water conservation, and waste management strategies. Following this, Executive Assessor Nur Maryam binti Ismail highlighted SIS’s achievement as the first GreenRE Platinum-certified international school, elaborating on the green features integrated into its building design and providing an overview of GreenRE’s rating system and certification process.

The presentations were conducted in two separate sessions to ensure age-appropriate engagement. The first session catered to primary school students aged 5 to 11, while the second session was delivered to secondary school students aged 12 to 18. Each session was tailored to its audience, making sustainability concepts more relatable and impactful.

Beyond GreenRE’s segment, the event also featured discussions on textile recycling, with speakers advocating for sustainable fashion choices. A ‘SWAP’ session was introduced, where students exchanged clothes to promote waste reduction. Additionally, the school recognized the top three winners of its sustainable poster competition, celebrating students' creativity and their growing awareness of environmental conservation.

The talk was met with an enthusiastic and engaged response, with SIS students actively participating in discussions and posing insightful questions to the GreenRE team. Fostering environmental consciousness from a young age is essential in nurturing future leaders who will drive sustainability and champion eco-friendly development in Malaysia.
