Materials that won’t harm the environment
Embracing sustainability, the project team worked very
hard to incorporate environmentally friendly and recycled
products with local and international certification to mitigate
impact from extraction and processing of virgin materials.
However, this was no easy feat in Kedah where sustainable
materials were scarce. The team made efforts to engage local
businesses in their quest for reused and recycled materials.
At the construction phase, the project team ensured only
methods that comply with green building guidelines were
employed.

The GreenRE certification

process guideline is well

designed. I like that they adopt

a carrot rather than a stick

approach to help encourage

building owners and

architects to embrace green

building practices.
