for occupants, durable and promotes low-maintenance. Black
Impala granite dresses the external perimeter finishing and
internal common areas, while Ariston marble clads the feature
walls at the lift lobbies on the premium floors. Light Weight
Aerated Concrete blocks are extensively used for the internal
walls to reduce dead load and create a more efficient building
structure.
Responsible construction practices
In keeping with the eco-friendly theme, the UOB Plaza 1
KL’s project team used green concrete for the building’s
reinforced concrete structures to enhance durability, lower
energy consumption, increase life-cycle and reduce CO2
emissions. Green Label Plasterboards were also widely used
for partitions and box-up, saving space and dead loads.
Energy-efficient façade that improves overall
performance
One of the project team’s greatest challenge was achieving
the required Envelope Thermal Transfer Value (ETTV). Taking
into account the basic components of heat gain throughout
external walls and windows, the project team used a full “low
ion” super clear glass curtain wall for the building envelope.
Incorporating triple low-E glazing, the building achieved
high solar gain and low heat loss. Sun-shades were cleverly
worked into the design to reduce direct sunlight, while
utilising the innovative architectural solution of double façade
at the corner terraces, the project team improved passive solar comfort for its occupants. To comply with the GreenRE
performance saving energy use and enhancing visual appeal. certification requirement, continuous monitoring of indoor air
quality ensured the building occupants’ health is constantly
An inviting and engaging indoor environment prioritised. The building, envisioned to be a professional home,
is also an avenue for the UOB family to forge connections,
Focusing on its people’s wellbeing and productivity, UOB
cultivate growth and foster a true sense of community.
