Hanging gardens
At a little under 400,000 sq ft of gross floor area, space
was not a luxury to be had. Nevertheless, the project
team displayed innovation in architectural creativity, with
thoughtful nooks for residents’ comfort and relaxation, while
incorporating greenery throughout the development - six
sky gardens and a generous number of Lee Kuan Yew plants
draping the façade. An additional personalised touch by the
project team was to incorporate edible and herbs garden,
a clever utilisation of space with functionality allowing
residents to use it at will.
Mega-serious about the environment
The developers were steadfast in their mission to ensure
everything about Megah Rise Residensi is environmentally
friendly and has the community’s well-being in mind. All
indoor spaces used low VOC paint to minimise indoor
pollutants, LED lighting and 5 star air-conditioning units
for efficiency in energy use while the lifts are installed with
regenerative features to reduce the energy consumption. All
these features provide an estimated energy savings of up
to 33% compared to conventional buildings. Towards waste
reduction practices, compost bins sat strategically within
the perimeter, supplying organic fertiliser for the expansive
greenery, while rainwater collection facilities were prepared
to supply non-potable water for landscape irrigation. With
the WEPLS-rated water fittings in place, the water savings
experienced are up to 5% compared to a conventional
building. Additionally, in support of the use of EVs to reduce
carbon emission, EV charging stations were prepared at
convenient locations within the building.
